About the Assignment
The goal of this opinion paper was to develop and defend an opinion based on an issue presented in "The Health Care Handbook: A Clear & Concise Guide to the United States Health Care System" by Elisabeth Askin and Nathan Moore. As the title suggests, this book was largely based on health care in the United States. The goal of this assignment was to introduce us to our own healthcare system before learning more about another. I decided to discuss the issue of costly pharmaceutical drugs in the United States and compare this issue to other developed countries.

Reflection
This assignment helped me think more deeply about some of the issues that are present within the United States health care system, and gave me the opportunity to really focus on one issue. I now know much more information about the high costs of pharmaceutical drugs in the U.S. compared to other countries, and how this impacts U.S. citizens. It also made me think critically about potential solutions to this issues, looking to other countries as a reference.
Reflective Journal
About the Assignment
The purpose of the reflective journal was not just to restate the activities of each day, but to reflect on what we learned and the experiences that we had. This includes observations and interactions with local community health professionals. The assignment started after the first class session and continued into our time abroad. I also included photos of each day to go along with the activities.

Reflection
This assignment helped me reflect on what I learned and experienced while in Norway and Sweden. It helped me think about the cultural observations that I made and what I learned about their healthcare system that I didn't learn from my research prior to the program.
