Honors Peer Mentor

The Honors Peer Mentor Program matches current Honors students to incoming first-year Honors student to develop a mentoring relationship during the mentee's first semester at IUI. Being a mentee during my first semester and having a great experience with the program, I have now participated in the program as a mentor during my second and third years. Each mentor is matched with two Honors mentees. I meet with these two students individually twice per month during their first semester. This is a time for them to ask any questions about Honors or college life, or to just establish a sense of belonging within the Honors College. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a mentor within this program, establishing strong connections with my mentees that have outlasted the formal mentorship period. One of my previous mentees is now a mentor herself within the program.
